Squish me up small, and in my tiny state, I will traverse your brain
If you told me you wanted to rewire that place, I'd study every day
Electricity, you're already teaching me that fleeting trade
And with my knowledge, I swear that in there looks entirely great
Holding my breath tonight, through ways I wish to fold
In your eyes, I feel light and weighed down by the world
Stare at my nails, and though the paint will fade, your color's been ingrained
Plus, if we're matching, I imagine you'll catch on to my healing waves
In record time, I found myself aligning to a song called "Braid"
And now I'm pulling at the meaning lurking in your every trace
Holding my breath tonight, through ways I wish to fold
In your eyes, I feel light and weighed down by the world

Ocean Beach - where you'll find me as I reread the page in a million ways
To the Mission Bay - I'm off in a daydream, standing on waves, feeling awake
If I could settle down, it'd be in this new town, in maybe a house, maybe with you around
Wondering more about what it is that makes us feel at home
I'm not making any progress
In the ever-present context
That would let me wake less self-contained
And I just stay idealistic
Like my dreams of the Pacific
I'll pretend tonight that a four hour flight would change my plight
Standing still, familiar chill. I turn away from this blue to the vibrant hue
Of a sunset's peace. A life without seasons, monotony - would it get to me?
With the calendar change, I'm ready for more days of shaping my ways and not being afraid
But in between, look for me strolling down India Street

Rain Delay (2017 Demo)

Our buzzer's fixed
Ring it, somebody test it
Before the inning begins
Sit, stare at nothing at all
"The way it should be"
I fear I'm lacking
Detaching from my skin
I once imagined
Seeing patterns again
As I sit and gaze at the wall
Our city's making history, but I can't seem to shake my glass-half-empty mentality
I clung to the parade today because it meant that I could keep all of my loneliness at bay
And you might say the same
I'd buy a t-shirt any day if this surreality would stay in town for eternity
